Following last month’s publication of the AWD regulations, the REC has been in discussions with the Department for Business (BIS) on next steps and areas of ongoing concern for the industry.
The REC has subsequently received confirmation from Pat McFadden MP, Minister for Business Innovation and Skills that the industry will play a central role in developing practical implementation tools.

Third consecutive year of IITT success for Bristol base technology training specialist.
Training, Marketing and Recruitment specialist Verridian plc was last night announced as the Institute of IT Trainers (IITT) Training Company of the Year. The award topped a successful night at The Dorchester Hotel for Verridian, which was also awarded third place in the trainer of the year category for Peter Clark.

This was the challenge independent mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse (CPW) faced last year. Jutta Mackwell reports.
With the increasing popularity of wireless laptops and netbooks, supported by the rise of mobile broadband, CPW saw the potential of broadening its range into the arena. Last year, it started offering netbooks and laptops on the same basis as mobile phones, i.e. operators subsidise the initial purchase cost and users pay mobile data tariffs.
