David Hempleman-Adams Non Executive Director

David has an outstanding record of achievement both in business, exploration and the charity sector. With over 20 years experience of building and running profitable business’ , David has been appointed as Non Executive Director with a number of companies and charitable organizations, including GWR Radio, St Johns Council and founder and Trustee of the Mitchemp Trust, which seeks to raise money for disadvantaged children.

David has extensive experience of fundraising and managing multi-million pound budgets in relation to the various projects he has been involved in, and approaches everything he does with a passion, enthusiasm and determination.

David was appointed as Trustee to the Board of Directors of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and holds several records, he is the first man to reach the geographic and magnetic north and south poles as well as climb the highest peaks around the world in seven continents. He is the first person to cross the Atlantic in an open wicker basket hot air balloon. He has also staged the world’s highest formal dinner party at 24,262 feet.

Martin Tuckwell Non-Executive Director

Martin is an acknowledged industry expert in the field of governance, training & competance and sales force development, having held over the last 17yrs a number of high profile roles covering both operational and strategic disciplines.

After a career in the army Martin joined Lombard Nat West in 1989 as head of training & development before moving into the field of financial services regulation with Lautro/PIA. Martin joined KPMG in 2000 as a principal consultant working in the specialist regulatory division. In 2002 Martin was appointed head of regulated training for Barclays Bank with responsibility for the content, quality and overall direction of all regulated training and assessment across the Banks businesses.

After five years as a regulator Martin moved firstly to Pearl Assurance and then Britannic Assurance where he was responsible in both companies for the compliant operation of their direct sales forces.Most recently Martin has been principal consultant at Momenta Consulting, managing large scale compliance projects and the provision of board level advice on relationship development with the FSA.

Much of Martin’s spare time is spent organising and leading battlefield tours to World War 1 sites in France and Belgium.

Bill Haynes Chief Executive Officer

Bill Haynes has a dynamic track record in spearheading successful corporate change, dramatic performance improvement and, rapid new business growth. An inspiring and supportive leader, he has substantial experience of aligning the distribution, marketing and customer services for major organisations, in an effective and highly profitable manner, whilst managing the requirements of complex product ranges, stakeholders and the increasing demands of various regulatory bodies.

Bill has held several senior board positions in multi-million pound turnover, Financial Services companies including: CEO at Just Retirement Solutions; Managing Directorships at Barclays Premier Banking, Britannic Assurance, Sun Life Unit Services and, City Investors; and Sales Director at Commercial Union.

He is actively involved in ‘extreme condition’ projects such as the first successful balloon flight to the North Pole and a similar attempt over Everest. Bill is also A keen collector of primitive art and played Rugby Union to representative level.

Rod Leaver Executive Chairman

Rod Leaver provides considerable expertise to clients requiring strategic development, training programmes and management coaching, recruitment and selection services, change programmes and distribution improvements. He has an outstanding record in the UK and globally, successfully building thousands-strong sales teams and creating industry award-nominated training and recruitment programmes.

Prior to joining Verridian in 1997, Rod’s career spanned 30 years in Financial Services including Managing Director of Lincoln Financial Group and Sales Director at Commercial Union.

Rod has many outside interests and is Chairman of the Roses Theatre Trust Tewkesbury, Chairman Leaver Golf Management Ltd. He is married with five children and four grandchildren.

Malik Hossain Financial Director

Malik Hossain has successfully created retail outlets, restaurants and an internet service company, in addition to management consulting for some of the UK’s largest PLCs. Malik has raised significant funds for several charities by running marathons and riding his Harley Davidson Fatboy throughout Europe and Africa. He has recently returned from ‘Enduro-Africa’, a bike marathon, covering over 1000 miles off road that raised over £300,000 for charity, and enjoyed some special royal patronage.

He is a keen golfer, cricketer and musician, who enjoys shooting and flying single engine aeroplanes. Malik has two children and is married to a management consultant.

Robert Brine Sales Director

Robert Brine is an extremely capable motivator with strong interpersonal skills at all levels and, he is highly accomplished within people development, regulated sales and management environments. Particularly adept at conveying communication techniques, product knowledge and process models, Robert specialises in designing and delivering client training programmes. Prior to joining Verridian in 2002, he held senior training and competency, management development and, sales roles for major organisations including Australian Mutual Provident.

Marcus Dacombe Marketing Director

Marcus Dacombe provides strong leadership capabilities and has a strong track record of delivering innovative and simple solutions to complex and challenging issues. His extensive experience encompasses strategic marketing planning, cross-functional project management, product marketing, as well as B2B and B2C marketing communications particularly via advertising and direct marketing.

Prior to joining Verridian, Marcus was Product Marketing Manager, Head of Product Marketing and latterly interim Marketing Director for Nokia UK.

Marcus enjoys all aspects of outdoor life; camping, hiking and hill walking. He has been playing the guitar poorly for the last 25 years and like to write when not attempting extraordinarily complicated Heston Blumenthal recipes.
